2008 Elections N.Z.

Anyone see the news over here in New Zealand? The elections are getting close; Helen Clark with Labour is coming one point behind John Key’s National. The Green party is next, then NZ First, then Maori party followed lastly by ACT.

The elections really are starting to narrow. According to the One News website, ”http://www.onenews.co.nz” it says that John Key is going to have to find more people to vote for him if he wants to get ahead to the next government. The poll released says that National hasn’t got majority for the first time in a year. The poll from last week says National was ahead by fourteen points but now it has been lowered down to twelve points. At the moment John Key is wanted by the country to be Prime minister on 38% however Helen Clark is catching right up and is currently on 37%. Do you know what? Three percent of New Zealand want Winston Peters to lead our country!

Personally I would vote Labour because I don’t think John Key deserves to be prime minister of our beautiful New Zealand.

Silver Ferns vs England

Did you see the netball last night? We beat the English by miles. I think that after the last game the Silver Ferns really had to pull together. Here’s what happened…

The Silver Ferns ( New Zealand ) started off well and were in the lead by about three. Then all of a sudden England caught up and by the end of the first quarter they were both tied at eight. However the Silver Ferns didn’t give up and tried their hardest and they knew the could beat them. I think the second quarter was the best they had. The Siver Ferns score just kept going up and up while the English were in a spot of trouble trying to catch up to the old Kiwi’s. By the end of the second quarter the score was something like nine to the English and thirty four to us. The score stayed the same throughout the rest of the netball and finally the end results came to something like twenty one and sixty one. They played heaps better than their last game which was something like sixteen-forty eight to the English!

All credit to the Kiwi’s.

My Goals for Term 4

Posted on October 19th, 2008 in school by lizzie3

Last term I didn’t achieve all my goals that I set out to do. So this term I’m going to try to make a big effort to get all my goals achieved! These are my goals for Term 4:

I would like to pass my ballet exams and get honours or higher, I’m sure I can achieve this by practising a little bit every night and fixing up my mistakes as best as I can.

I want to get into the Christmas Karate Grading, I can do this by turning up to training every time it’s on and showing my teacher I can do the best I can so I can grade and go up to the next belt. (Which is blue by the way.)

I’d really like to get all my school work done on time and put in my best effort, to be able to achieve this I can start my work on time and really think about what I’m doing.

I want to get better in guitar and get moved up to the next group, also I’d like to show my teacher that I’m good enough to do a solo in the next school show. I think I can do this by listening to my teacher and practising in my free time. I also need to remember to bring my music folder!

Last but not least I would like to get better at french now that I have the opportunity to learn it. To achieve this goal I can ask for help when I need it, speak with confidence and be willing to learn something new.

These are my goals for Term 4 lets hope I get them all achieved!
