China’s Milk Products.

As some of you might know our milk company Fonterra partly owns a milk formula in Sanlu, China. People all over China have been buyingmilk powder for their Chinese babies to drink. Little did they know that the milk powder that they had been buying was poisoned with melamine…

So far in China two young babies have died while five hundred and eighty are sick. I think this is sickening to think that this milk company of firm could actually think of putting poison in babies milk powder. I also think that Fonterra should have check ups on the company every now and again just to make sure they aren’t doing anything else. Apparently the Chinese government made it difficult for us to stop the milk powder from being banned. They say they are still not sure if other Chinese citizens are still selling the product. Helen Clark had to intervene.

So what do you think of this? Is it partly Fonterra’s fault? Your decision.

Fun Day.

Posted on September 14th, 2008 in Fun by lizzie3

Today I woke up happy and bright. Hmmm, I wonder why? oh, yeah I remember I was going to have a party today and do heaps of other fun activities!!!

I got up had breakfast and had boring musli by the way. Then I went and had a shower and got my togs ready to go for a swim. We were really busy because my mum was organizing a party down at the pools for all the netball girls who had been in my netball team for 2008. While mum was finising off the food I started watching a ”Randell and Hopkirk Deceased” Have you ever heard of them? they are these T.V. programmes my parents used to watch donkeys years ago. They are about these two private investergaters only one of them is dead so he came back as a ghost. That is why it is called ”Randell and Hopkirk Deceased” because Marty Hopkirk is Deceased! Anyway Mum finished getting ready and we hit the road. I arrived at the pools and only 3/7 people came to my party not including me! But we had fun. As soon as I marched in the front door I was told to bike up to the dairy and get some milk. Finally when I had time to play me and my brother and sisters played a game with two skipping ropes and a ball. One person has their hands tied up and their feet tied up and they have to try and get to a posession that they own tied up, while the others have to start on a line and pass a ball to each other until they get to the hoop, They then have to get five goals in letting each other have a go. The two teams have to race against each other and if the tied up person wins then they get one skipping rope taken off them. This is then repeated until the tied up person is free!!

The Mystery of Madilene

Posted on September 7th, 2008 in current events by lizzie3

As most of you probably know, there is a little girl who was kidnapped on her holiday in a small town in Portugal. The little girl was called Madilene. Her mysterious disappearance has been going on over a year now, and for some time her parents were accused of her of mystery. The Portugal police had a cock-and-bull-story that Madilene’s parents had murdered their daughter. They said that the girls parents had drugged her, given her two much of the drug and paniced. They then said they had disposed of her body and claimed that she had been ”kidnapped”. Well I think this is appauling of the police to lie until their tounges turn black. Anyway there is quite an interesting story about Madliene. Here it is…

There was a shop keeper putting away items on a shelf when a little girl came up to him and  said she was lost. The shopkeeper then asked her name, because the girl was sucking her thumb it came out unclear but he thought the name was Mattie. He repeated the name to the girl and she corrected him saying it was Maddie. A little curious he asked where is your mother? Maddie replied that is not my mummy, she took me from my holiday and I miss my mummy I want her.

Well what do you think of that? I think that if they had followed this story up then Madilene would have been reunited with her family in no time at all.
